After 2 years of “Storming”, Khatumo finally appears to display signs of maturity or “Norming” ; The two Presidential candidates congratulating each other in their campaign speeches in Saaxdheer as they were cheered on by a circle of elders and 33 newly elected MP’s. It was quite a sight to watch_ democracy in action for the first time in Khatumo country. At midnight tonight, it will either be Ali/Mohamed or Mohamed/Ali. Nevertheless, the election results will be the same as both promised to “work with each other”. This is a hopeful sign that Khatumo’s “Performing” stage is not that far.

Meanwhile, as in every democratic exercise, there will always be those who might claim that their voices are missing. But clearly the majority of the people of Khatumo have spoken again in the summer of 2014 and the little Khatumo III Train keeps on puffing and marching ahead in the sandy roads of Sahdheer; Thanks in part to a new set of dedicated dervish volunteers who are dug up in and around the “xagar-trees of Khatumo III elections venue. They are the true heroes who are worthy of dominating our discourse in this Forum. Yes, they are ready to defend their new baby with a sense of “ownership” that was long missing in previous battles. Born in the historical city of Taleh but brought up in city of Buhodle, This Khatumo dervish toddler now gallops proudly in the city of Sahdheer.
