I would like to congratulate SHABA (Shirkada Adeega Biyaha Awdal) for the commitment and dedication they have shown with regards to the support and services they provide to thousands of people in the Awdal region of Somaliland.
SHABA has improved the living conditions of many communities by implementing water projects necessary in the provision of clean and drinkable water. I am sure that SHABA’s work has a positive knock-on effect, and reduced the number of waterborne diseases which was epidemic before SHABA’s establishment in 2003.
I had an opportunity to visit Awdal region in 2012 and 2013. During my stay in the region particularly the city of Borama I was delighted the reliable water system that SHABA brought into the existence – continuous and high standard quality water. Anyone who is familiar with Borama’s water condition before SHABA introduced this comprehensive water service system would consider the change that has taken place as a miracle worth for appreciation.
Beside the provision of clean and sustainable water to the people who are in need, SHABA believes the Adal citizens in general and people from Borama City in particular as its most important asset. SHABA contributes generously all community development activity areas i.e. education, health and social projects. In doing so, SHABA has set a good example of leadership, responsibility and compassion. Because of these facts and others, SHABA has earned the respect and gratitude of the community. For this, I sincerely salute the effort and dedication of SHABA.
Again, I would like to convey my genuine appreciation and gratitude to SHABA’s management committee and employees. We ask Allah to protect you and your organisation which is beacon of hope and a sign of development.
Sincerely yours,
Said Muse Madobe
